M-D Building Products plans to expand its Oklahoma City plant

The $4 million facility will be built at the company's headquarters in the Santa Fe Industrial Park, on N Santa Fe Avenue between NE 36 Street and NW 50 Street. Construction is expected to be complete in about six months.

The company, which began in 1920 under the name Macklanburg-Duncan, manufactures weatherproofing products including door and window weatherstripping, pipe insulation and a line of caulking products.

"Oklahoma City has been our home since 1920 and provides us with a very dedicated and productive work force. It is with great pleasure that we formally announce our expansion during this, our 90th anniversary celebration. We are very excited about our long-term future in Oklahoma City," said Loren Plotkin, president and CEO.

M-D Building Products operates a 450,000-square-foot facility in Oklahoma City and employs more than 450 people. The company also has a plant in Gainesville, Ga.
